ID documents for appeals
Rejected ID is a common, avoidable dead end.
Stuck? Skip the letters and send your case to people who do this every day.
We'll handle it for youMeta asks for ID to match a real person to a profile. Rejections come from blurry photos and name mismatches far more than from the document type.
Commonly accepted
- Passport
- Driver's licence
- National ID card
- Other official documents with your name and photo or date of birth, from Meta's accepted list
Check the current list on Meta's accepted ID page.
Photo checklist
- All four corners visible, on a dark flat surface
- Daylight, no flash glare
- Text sharp enough to read when zoomed
- Cover your ID number if allowed; never cover name, photo or birth date
Name doesn't match the profile
Add a second document that shows your everyday name, and explain the difference in one sentence (married name, transliteration, nickname).
Video selfie instead
Instagram often asks for a short video selfie. Good light, no glasses, follow the head-turn prompts slowly. UnbanPro has notes on rejected video selfies.
Business accounts
If the profile is a brand name, the ID won't match it. Add a business document (registration, utility bill, tax certificate) and one sentence explaining you're the owner.
Questions people ask
Is it safe to upload my ID?
Only through Meta's own flow inside the app or on facebook.com or instagram.com. Never send ID to someone who DMs you.
What if my ID is expired?
Use a current one. If you don't have one, use a combination of documents from Meta's accepted list.
