"Disabled for not following our terms"
Vague wording, but there's still a way forward.
Stuck? Skip the letters and send your case to people who do this every day.
We'll handle it for youThis message is broader than a Community Standards notice. It points to the Terms of Use, which cover things like fake identity, automation, buying followers, selling accounts and access from banned devices.
Common triggers
- Follower, like or "who viewed my profile" apps
- Mass following or unfollowing in a short time
- Logging in from many devices or shared VPN addresses
- An account bought from, or sold to, someone else
- Being linked to another disabled account on the same device or phone number
How to appeal it
- Log in and look for "Disagree" or "Request review".
- If it's offered, appeal immediately. Address the most likely trigger in one sentence: "I removed the third-party app on [date]."
- If it isn't offered, check whether it's a final decision and move to escalation.
Works: "I used a scheduling app that I've now disconnected. I don't buy followers or use automation. Please review manually."
Doesn't work: "I didn't do anything, your AI is broken, give me my account back."
Questions people ask
Can it be linked to another account?
Yes. Accounts that share devices, phone numbers or emails can be affected together.
Does a terms violation mean no appeal?
Not always. Use the review if the login screen offers one.
